The Way of Faith

I'm reminded recently that I haven't blooged lately. This is a commitment I've made to share my thoughts on the journey I'm walking. In meditation most recently, I begin to realize a different level of 'reality'. Interestingly enough, as so many others who have gone before me discovered this level as well. I'm talking about the difference in believing God in the "right now" versus believing Him in our dead past or nonexistent future.

I had the awakening moment when I realized that because we're making decisions each day does not mean we're making decision toward faith. Let me share an example with you. Say, you have money to pay a bill that's due in a week; but the need for groceries is pressing on you now. What do you do? Which is faith? Holding the money and paying the bill in a week? Or, getting to the store and getting groceries?

This scenario is similar to many others you may have. Still you ask yourself, "what do you do?" Are both decisions, the Way of Faith? How I understand it now, is that if we are living in the Presence of God; then God IS our "refuge and strength, a very present help in the time of trouble" according to Psalm 46:1.

In the Western culture, we have been taught religiously to plan for everything. We figure if it's not planned then it's "probably a disaster awaiting manifestation". We express so often, if it's not planned, we are not able to do the tasks. We sometimes think, "if only I had planned, I could do thus and so".

Here's a revelation for you. According to Psalm 46:1, He is a Present Help in the time of need. This is the Way of Faith. Think now, if God can't do it; it can't be done. He is Amighty , Our Refuge from the storm. He is our Fortress from danger. What more do we need.

I must also say this, that I realize it didn't mean that I would never plan for tomorrow. I've learned the Way of Faith is the same principle the Bible talks about in "The just shall live by faith." - Romans 1:17b.

Faith, according to Hebrews 11:1 states, "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for; the evidence of things not seen". This indicates "right now, presence". Not yesterday's faith; not tomorrow's faith. It's right now, faith.

Those that have an ear let them hear what the Spirit is saying to the church.
